Nubia Torres attended the University of Dallas where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in Spanish. She is originally from Brownsville, TX. A first generation American and daughter of Immigrant parents, she has been working in Immigration law since 2009. Ms. Torres is a fully accredited representative by the Department of Justice, allowing her to represent immigrant before the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), which includes the immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). She is involved in several community organizations that assist immigrant survivors of crime, provides trainings on immigration and crime victim relief to law enforcement agencies, service providers, and attorneys around the country, and is an advocate for immigrant rights.
