Independent Living Home -Worker- Dallas, TX

Catholic Charities Dallas is looking for a Home Worker to join our team. You will be part of the Children’s Services program. Facility will house male teens and young adults.

HOURS: 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support

You will provide client support to assist teens and young adults in independent living to meet their service plan and life skills goals while providing appropriate levels of supervision and ensuring facility is maintained.

Monitoring

You will ensure that required schedules, curfews and program rules are met. You will practice and model core values and responsible decision making. You will show respect and courtesy to the youth and hold them accountable for their actions and behaviors.

Transportation

You will provide transportation for needed appointments or grocery shopping on a regular basis. Valid drivers license and car insurance are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish REQUIRED
  • Experience working with teens or young adults.
  • Experience working as a residential advisor, community center worker or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the community
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and ethnicity

Paid Time Off (PTO) allows employees the flexibility to take time off as they need and we have a generous holiday schedule. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $13.00 to $13.25 per hour, based on skills and experience.

THIS IS A LIVE IN POSITION. Housing and Utilities are covered. Staff will be responsible for personal items and their own food. On the clock hours are 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday.
