The Noori family had been struggling with infertility for years and had a deep desire to grow their family through adoption. With this goal in mind, they found themselves at Catholic Charities in spring of 2023, where they began the lengthy process of becoming an approved family.

After two and a half years of patience and faith, they were matched with a birth mother who wished to make an adoption plan for her baby. Supported by CCD staff, the Noori’s were able to meet the birth mother and her family several times throughout her pregnancy. This allowed for both the Noori family and the birth mother to a build a meaningful and respectful connection.

On April 24 of this year, their long-awaited dream finally came true with the birth of their baby. The Noori family expressed that ever since that day, their lives have been filled with joy, gratitude, and the life-changing experience of parenthood. Through it all, they have continued to maintain a thoughtful relationship with the birth mother, supported by our staff. The Noori family is excited to have their adoption finalized in November of this year.

Family has always been important to Elizabeth, so when she learned that her daughter in St. Louis was experiencing a medical crisis, she immediately dropped everything to be by her side.

Complicating matters, however, was her own financial situation: Elizabeth had been laid off recently and was unable to afford the transportation necessary to reach her daughter during this critical time. Undeterred, she searched online for resources and found CCD’s Disaster Preparedness and Relief Services.

As a resident of our service area facing an unexpected emergency, Elizabeth turned to Catholic Charities Dallas for help. Through emergency funds generously provided to CCD by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we were able to provide the one-time transportation assistance she needed to move forward.

What seemed like a simple ticket meant so much more to Elizabeth. It was a lifeline that allowed her to reunite with her daughter when she needed her most.

When Elizabeth arrived in St. Louis, she quickly realized her daughter was facing challenges that extended far beyond her medical condition. With her daughter’s health and safety at risk, Elizabeth stepped into the roles of advocate, caregiver, and source of stability. She worked alongside local agencies to connect her daughter with critical resources and help her find safer living conditions.

Despite the uncertainty and difficult circumstances she encountered, Elizabeth found strength in her faith, her community connections, and simply being able to be present for her daughter.

“CCD’s kindness came at such an important time in my life, and my gratitude is immense,” she shared.

A relatively small investment in emergency transportation made an extraordinary difference. It gave a mother the opportunity to answer her daughter’s call for help, provide critical support, and begin navigating a path toward greater stability and hope.

Our support gave Elizabeth the chance to be there for her daughter during a critical time and help her take the next steps toward a safer, more stable future.

Mrs. Libna is a hardworking, family-oriented mother who takes great pride in her Honduran roots and culture.

When she first joined Catholic Charities Dallas’ Together We’re Better (TWB) program, she wasn’t sure how she would manage it. The 16-week program helps families strengthen parent-child relationships while building a foundation for early literacy and school readiness. But participating with two active babies made it difficult for Mrs. Libna to concentrate and fully engage.

Still, she kept showing up. As she began to see the difference the program was making for her and her children, she knew the effort was worth it.

One of her favorite memories from the program came when her son, Jeremias, took his first steps. When the family began TWB, he wasn’t walking yet. One of Mrs. Libna’s teachers encouraged her, telling her, “He is going to leave here walking.”

By the third class, Jeremias was cautiously taking his first steps. For Mrs. Libna, the moment was more than an exciting milestone. It reminded her how meaningful it can be to have someone encouraging her and cheering her on as a mother.

TWB also connected Mrs. Libna with CCD’s case management services, giving her support with other needs affecting her family. She received clothing assistance and was connected to English classes, helping her continue to build skills and achieve greater independence for herself and her family.

That relationship with CCD continued after she graduated from TWB. When her family later experienced a difficult financial situation, Mrs. Libna reached out again for support. Knowing she had somewhere to turn when her family needed help gave her an important sense of connection and reassurance.

Today, Mrs. Libna describes her life as filled with love. She feels more confident caring for her children, managing her household, running errands, and participating in activities with them. She has also seen growth in both of her children Jeremias and Mayra, particularly in their speech, motor skills, curiosity, and ability to socialize with others.

Mrs. Libna is grateful she kept coming back, even on the days when getting two babies to class felt overwhelming. She remains focused on giving her children every opportunity to thrive while making sure they grow up knowing and celebrating their Honduran and Salvadoran heritage.

Nameez, a native of Honduras, entered Catholic Charities Dallas’ foster care program in 2023. At age 16, she began building a new life through our Children’s Services Supervised Independent Living program. Since then, she has taken important steps toward independence, including securing a full-time job that has provided stability as she plans for her future.

Getting there was not easy. Nameez had to adjust to a new school, learn English, and navigate the responsibilities of becoming an independent young adult. She learned to drive, obtained her own vehicle, prepared for state testing, and proudly graduated from high school in 2025.

Today, Nameez continues to manage her apartment and finances while balancing work and education. Through it all, she has remained focused on one of her biggest goals: attending cosmetology school.

When finances presented a barrier, Nameez began looking for ways to make that goal possible. In March, she enrolled at Texas Beauty College after receiving a grant made possible by a generous CCD donor, along with financial support through the Education and Training Voucher program for foster youth. Together, these resources covered the full cost of her coursework.

Now, Nameez is working toward a career she once only imagined. She is grateful for the support that helped make cosmetology school possible and excited about the independence and opportunities that will come with completing her education.

From arriving at CCD at 16 to graduating from high school, working full time, living independently, and pursuing her career goals, Nameez continues to build the future she has worked so hard to create.

Digital Literacy Graduation

Our Next Gen Wealth Academy recently celebrated the graduation of participants from its Digital Literacy Class! Throughout the program, graduates built confidence using technology, learned how to access important online resources, and developed practical digital skills they can use in everyday life.

To support their continued learning, each graduate received a laptop upon completing the program. Equipped with both the knowledge and the tools they need, participants are now able to stay connected and navigate through the digital world. They are able to take meaningful steps toward achieving their personal, educational, and professional goals.

Congratulations to our graduates on this incredible achievement and thank you to Everybody On for partnering with us to empower our clients.

The NeighborHUB

Last month, CCD celebrated an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking of our new northern services facility in McKinney: the NeighborHUB.

Collin County was the second-fastest-growing county in the U.S. from 2024 to 2025. Yet even amid the prosperity that often accompanies rapid growth, many of our neighbors continue to need access to essential services, including healthcare, nutrition, legal assistance, and education.

The NeighborHUB, expected to begin welcoming clients in late 2027, will help meet those growing needs through a collaborative approach to service. The facility will bring multiple nonprofit organizations together under one roof, giving individuals and families easier access to a variety of resources in one location.

Bringing this vision to life is truly a community effort. We are deeply grateful to our nonprofit partners, donors, foundations, volunteers, and friends who have shared their expertise, resources, and generosity to make the NeighborHUB possible.
