MCKINNEY, Texas — Catholic Charities Dallas, joined by McKinney Mayor Bill Cox and representatives from partner agencies, broke ground today on NeighborHUB, a new 40,000-square-foot facility that will bring together a number of social services organizations under one roof.
Once complete in late 2027, NeighborHUB will serve as a collaborative advocacy center designed to meet the growing needs of Collin County and the surrounding region.
As the second-fastest growing county in the U.S. from 2024 – 2025, Collin County is booming. Even with record growth, however, there are still residents in need of social services like healthcare, nutrition, legal aid, and education who currently must travel long distances for care.
An estimated one in five families in the region live in poverty. In addition, Texas leads the nation in food insecurity, with roughly one in six children living in food-insecure households. Because of its location on the north side of the DFW Metroplex, NeighborHUB will extend Catholic Charities’ reach into the northern part of its nine-county service area, which is modeled after the Diocese of Dallas’ service footprint.
“The NeighborHUB in McKinney will allow us to not only expand our services, but also be close to those in need throughout our northern counties,” said Catholic Charities CEO Dave Woodyard. “This amazing new facility will provide an affordable and collaborative home for multiple nonprofits to join together in a holistic approach, providing vital services, support, and hope. This effort would not be possible without our selfless nonprofit partners, the support of our donor and foundation community, and the help of countless others, all lending their expertise and resources to bring the NeighborHUB to life!”
The facility is designed around a shared-services model: partner organizations will lease space at below-market rent, with no capital investment required from participating nonprofits. That rental revenue is intended to cover the facility’s operating expenses and capital reserves, creating a self-sustaining center for years to come that gathers critical services for those in need, all under one roof.
A central reception area, led by One Heart McKinney, will connect clients to the full network of services housed in the building, alongside shared conference rooms and co-working space.
Provider partner organizations located in the HUB will include Catholic Charities Dallas, One Heart McKinney, St. Vincent de Paul, Streetside Showers, and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors, while support partners include Mission Regan, Grace Presbytery, Medbridge, Sanchez Charities, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
At NeighborHUB, Catholic Charities Dallas plans to offer six core programs: Adult and Early Childhood Education, a Community Health Clinic, Immigration Legal Services, the Next Gen Wealth Academy (financial literacy, tax assistance, and workforce readiness), parenting classes, and free tax preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Combined with services from partner organizations, the facility is projected to serve more than 12,000 unique clients in its first year, growing to nearly 29,000 unique clients annually by year five.
