April 2021

My name is Mike Murray, and I am the Chief Development Officer for Catholic Charities Dallas. I have lived in Dallas most of my life, attending Catholic schools, working for, volunteering for, and serving on boards of local Catholic institutions.

I am engaged in the community because I believe in living out our Faith in service to others. I am fully able to do that working for Catholic Charities and I believe you are fully able to do that giving to, serving, and volunteering for Catholic Charities Dallas.

Catholic Charities has existed in its current form since the 1960’s is part of the Diocese of Dallas and is a large, faith-based social service agency with 10 major Services, 33 programs, over 200 employees, seven service sites, serving over 200,000 people in 9 counties last year alone.

I will throw some more numbers at you: 6 million meals distributed in the last 12 months with four large trucks; soon will be housing over 280 formerly homeless, many seniors and veterans, in our two housing facilities; 4 education programs for hundreds of children and parents; 100 large food drops throughout nine counties every month; numerous adoptions, foster care placements and new citizens every year. There is more, a lot more!

We are in the business of improving, changing, and saving lives and when doing so we are humanizing and strengthening our community, culture, and society – your community, culture, and society.

We provide a tangible way for Catholics, and all people, to exercise the spiritual practice and virtue of charitable giving and living the Gospel call to serve the poor and needy among us. And the beautiful thing is we do this together, as one community. This is a great inspiration, witness, and truly powerful way to address significant problems.

Catholic Charities is all about service, generosity, compassion and living our Faith – in short, love. And we sincerely invite you to engage with Catholic Charities through our mission, programs, people, and clients.

Thank you for being part of our community of love and service and if you are not yet– we would love to have you.

Thank you and God bless.
