Together We Read
Together We Read (TWR) is a 16-week adult literacy program serving communities across Dallas and Collin counties, helping adults build essential English reading and writing skills through a proven, structured curriculum. At the same time, TWR equips parents with practical tools to support their children’s early literacy, creating lasting impact across generations.
About Together We Read
TWR provides adult literacy services across three locations in two counties (Dallas and Collin). Our Together We Read 16-week program has a dual purpose with helping adults build English proficiency skills through an evidence-based curriculum of 32 building blocks, while also equipping parents with the understanding of how to build reading proficiency in their school age children.
Together We Read Locations
Together We Read is currently provided in East Dallas at St. Pius X Parish, West Dallas at our state licensed CFCC campus, and at Harrington Library in Plano.
Program Impact
Together We Read Strengthens Adult and Family Literacy.
Together We Read supports lifelong literacy by helping adults build confidence in English reading and writing while equipping parents with strategies to strengthen learning at home. The 16-week program creates opportunities for both adults and children to grow together through literacy.
Together We Read serves adults through three partner sites: St. Pius X Parish, CFCC in West Dallas, and Harrington Library in Plano.
Three sites serve adults from 26 zip codes across West Dallas, East Dallas, and Plano.
44% of clients reside in zip codes identified as "most vulnerable" by United Way.
80% of adults increase their English proficiency to a level of 2nd grade or above by the end of 16 weeks.
92% of parents both understand and adopt new teaching strategies so their children will acquire crucial reading skills.
