Welcome to the latest edition of The Heavenly Express, the official newsletter for the Archangels Men’s Network of Catholic Charities Dallas. Here you will find the latest highlights, what’s to come, and general auxiliary group reminders.

The goal of the Archangels Men’s Network is to be the extra hands, voice, and leadership as needed to promote and provide support to Catholic Charities Dallas in its service to those in need in the Diocese of Dallas.

Thanks to your generosity and commitment to service, the Archangels have helped provide 930,424 meals this year to our neighbors in need, a remarkable 20 percent increase over last year.

For perspective, that’s approximately 1.4 million pounds of food, or nearly 700 tons, helping families put meals on the table. Thank you for continuing to answer the call to serve.

As we move through the summer and prepare for the busy fall season, here’s a summary of recent successes and a preview of what’s ahead.

5th Annual Archangels Cup – May 2026

Looking Back

5th Annual Archangels Cup

The 2026 Archangels Cup was another tremendous success.

Held on May 11 at the Golf Club of Dallas, the tournament welcomed more than 72 participants competing in a Ryder Cup-style format. While there was plenty of friendly competition on the course, the true winner was the Hunger Services mission of Catholic Charities Dallas.

Together, participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers helped raise enough support to provide over 411,000 meals for North Texans facing food insecurity.

A special thank you to our sponsors whose generosity made this impact possible. Your partnership continues to change lives throughout our community.

Rick Donnelli and Peter Blute – Archangel Board Members

Thank You to our Board Members

As this fiscal year comes to an end, we recognize two outstanding leaders whose board service is coming to a close.

Rick Donnelli is completing his term as Vice President and stepping off the Archangel Board. A past Archangel President, Rick has played a vital role in the growth and success of our organization. While his board service is ending, we are grateful that he will continue supporting the Archangels as a volunteer and through his service on the Catholic Charities Dallas Board of Directors.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Peter Blute, Executive Director of Young Catholic Professionals, whose leadership and partnership have strengthened the relationship between our organizations. Peter’s wisdom, dedication, and support have been invaluable.

Thank you, Rick and Peter, for your faithful service. May God bless you for all you have done for the Archangels and Catholic Charities.

Archangel Service Project at CFCC

Introducing Archangel Volunteer Days

The Archangel Volunteer Committee, led by Max Wernick, has developed a new approach to supporting Catholic Charities through hands-on service opportunities.

Beginning this fall, the Archangels will host two annual Universal Days of Service—one in the fall and one in the spring—bringing members together to complete projects that directly support Catholic Charities programs, facilities, and the families we serve. Whether we’re painting, repairing, organizing, landscaping, or tackling special projects, our goal remains the same: serving our neighbors until the need is met.

In addition to these dedicated service days, Archangels will have opportunities throughout the year to support some of Catholic Charities Dallas’ most important events and initiatives. Planned service opportunities include:

  • October 3, 2026 – Fall Universal Day of Service
  • October 22, 2026 – Breakfast with the Bishop
  • November 2026 – Hope for the Holidays
  • December 2026 – Christmas gift sorting, assembly, and distribution
  • Spring 2027 (late March/early April) – Spring Universal Day of Service
  • May 2027 – Archangels Cup

These projects provide meaningful opportunities for fellowship, service, and outreach while helping Catholic Charities continue its mission of serving the most vulnerable across North Texas. Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or participate throughout the year, your time and talents make a lasting impact. Please contact us at info@ccdallas.org if you are interested in learning more.
