Providing Food in a Time of Hardship

On Monday, March 30, 2026, Catholic Charities Dallas teamed up with the North Texas Food Bank to host a major mobile food distribution drive at Dallas Love Field Airport. This rapid-response initiative was specifically organized to assist TSA employees and their families who are facing severe financial strain and missed paychecks due to the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Volunteers worked diligently to hand out about 60 pounds of food to each family, packing boxes with crucial items like rice, noodles, potatoes, and canned goods to help put food on the table. During the segment, our President & CEO, Dave Woodard, spoke on-site about the immediate impact of the drive, noting that while a distribution like this won’t cover every single meal a family needs during a crisis, it makes a massive, tangible difference in relieving their current burden. We are so proud of our community for stepping up, and we remain dedicated to standing by our neighbors and serving North Texas’s most vulnerable.
