CATHOLIC CHARITIES PLANS MASSIVE FOOD DISTRIBUTION ON JULY 30TH

Social service agency expects to distribute 60,000 pounds of food, serve 1,000 families

WHAT: Catholic Charities Dallas will host a major food distribution to support individuals and families in need in South Dallas. This will be a contactless, drive-through event; drivers and passengers should remain in their vehicles for the safety of staff, volunteers, special guests and recipients. We anticipate distributing 60,000 pounds of food (meat, milk, eggs, produce and shelf-stable dry goods) to 1,000 families.

WHEN: Friday, July 30, 2021, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Drive through open

The COVID-19 pandemic created catastrophic financial hardships for families in our communities. CCD jumped into action, scaling up its services and programs to meet the urgent and continuing needs, particularly around hunger and housing insecurity.

At our last mega food distribution event on March 12, 2021, CCD distributed food and diapers to 1,118 households, providing nearly 61,000 meals to those in need.
