July 2021

  • First, we are proud to announce the bilingual Hope Project resources are now live on the parish resources webpage. We invite you to join us in promoting this new, free resource to your parish. Hope will help build coping skills for those suffering, perhaps in silence, with depression and anxiety. As a faith leader in our community, I’d like to invite you to test out this “bot” yourself and get a feel for what resources Hope can provide to your community. To start chatting with Hope, pull out your phone and text “hello” to 469-949-1179. Or, visit ccdallas.org/hope. Flyers to promote this bilingual chat resource are now live at ccdallas.org/parish.
  • Second, we are seeking volunteers for our upcoming Mega Food Drop on Friday, July 30th at Dallas Executive Airport from 9 AM – 3 PM. There are a variety of roles available, and a graphic promoting this specially unique opportunity is on the resource webpage. Help us continue to serve the hungry in our community! You may wish to consider bringing your staff out to serve together as a team building exercise. We would love to welcome your group!
  • Third, if you have a vibrant young adult population in your congregation, know that we are actively seeking fall placements for internships. Currently, we have 41 interns placed in 11 departments, including all of our client facing services as well as some administrative departments. Check out the parish resources website for information you can use to promote internship opportunities to your youth. Know that we are actively searching for ways to include young members of our diocese in the good work done here at Catholic Charities, that in turn can be used to help form them for future leadership in our communities.

Program Highlight: Financial Stability and Career Services

This program works with families that are seeking to establish financial security, and works with them in a variety of ways to accomplish this. Our program staff are well prepared to answer questions and offer the kind of guidance needed to bring clients to a place of stability. We are a certified HUD counselor as well, and can work with first time home-buyers. Right now, this program is seeking families interested in registering for a study operated in partnership with the Lab for Economic Opportunity, or LEO, which operates out of the University of Notre Dame. For more information you can promote to your parishioners, check out our parish resources webpage.

Thank you for your work and attention. As always, let me know who else on your staff should be receiving this email and I’ll make sure we add them to the list. That’s all for July! See you next time.
