A native Texan, originally from Corsicana, Rachel Roberts-Pickett joins Catholic Charities Dallas as Director of Refugee Services with 25 years of program management, operations, financial management, and community development experience. With a heart for service and passion for people, Rachel Roberts-Pickett is excited to reclaim her nonprofit roots.

Rachel’s previous professional experience includes entrepreneurship and roles in private equity, post-Hurricane Katrina disaster and community redevelopment efforts in New Orleans, LA, and on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, public affairs, and community/media relations.

Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Texas State University San Marcos, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, and a Graduate Certificate of Finance from Southern Methodist University. She is a certified project management professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.

Rachel is a 20-years-plus volunteer for the African American Museum of Dallas, a current member of philanthropic organization, 100 Women of Lake Highlands, and more recently, a community volunteer for several refugee families.

Rachel enjoys international travel, reading, and DIY home improvement. She lives in Lake Highlands with her husband, Steve, and their 12-year-old son, Syeed. She is a bonus mother to her 31-year-old bonus son, Patrick. Rachel is also an identical twin to her sister, Renata.
