Thomica James-Evans is a practicing Emergency Physician in North Texas. She earned her medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County-King Drew Medical School. After graduating from The University of California, San Diego, and prior to transitioning to a career in medicine, she worked as the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for a financial non-profit in Los Angeles, her hometown. 

In 2002, Dr. James-Evans relocated to Houston, joining her extended family. While practicing clinically, she developed an interest in the administrative side of Medicine. She has served on numerous governance committees, has served as the Medical Director of four different Emergency Departments and served as the Chief Medical Officer of a group of freestanding Emergency Departments in the DFW area for four years. She is currently the Medical Director for the SignatureCare Emergency Center in Plano, TX 

In 2013, a relocation brought her to Dallas. In addition to her administrative and clinical duties, Dr. James-Evans is active in many community organizations. She has served on the Boards for Angels of Charity, the Town North YMCA, and the Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill of American, Inc. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, The National Medical Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the CV Roman Society. 

She resides in North Dallas with her family and is the proud mother of Amalia and Gabriella Evans. They are members of St. Rita’s Catholic Church.
