DALLAS (MAY 4, 2023) – Community Health Clinic (CHC) in McKinney and Catholic Charities Dallas (CCD) in Dallas have formalized a strategic alliance that will allow both organizations to better serve those most in need.

CHC has provided free medical care to uninsured and medically underserved Collin County residents for nearly 20 years, while CCD has grown into one of the largest social-service providers in North Texas. The alliance will facilitate the sharing of administrative resources, expertise, and personnel, creating economies of scale while also increasing access for both organizations’ clients.

“The alliance will enable greater efficiency in operations, seamlessly connect clients of one organization to services at the other, and expand locations, days and/or hours,” said Steve Wurm, Executive Director of CHC. “This means CHC can increase patient volumes and have a more significant impact on the health of the Collin County community, particularly those managing chronic and potentially debilitating medical conditions.” CHC currently serves patients out of a medical office building on the Medical City McKinney campus at 4510 Medical Center Drive in McKinney.

“The work CHC does in helping vulnerable community members receive medical care for chronic health conditions is vital to preserving their dignity and self-sufficiency,” said Dave Woodyard, President/CEO of CCD. “We are proud to align with CHC and introduce CCD’s Collin County residents to their clinic for ongoing care.” CCD operates out of a Central Service Center on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, and also offers specialized services at six other locations.

Clients of CHC and CCD will not experience any changes in service, other than easier access to a broader range of assistance. For example, a CHC patient might need assistance paying rent and utilities or putting food on the table. Now, CHC can connect them directly with CCD’s emergency financial assistance program and its food pantries. Conversely, a Collin County client in CCD’s financial literacy program who is struggling with a condition such as diabetes that requires expensive medications will now have a resource to turn to for ongoing medical care and access to free or low-cost prescriptions.
