June 2021

  • Thanks to all who promoted Time for Giving. Aside from the needed financial support it provides, we appreciate the increased awareness of our services which will help us serve more across our diocese. We cannot do this without your help!
  • With all of the growth happening at CCD, we’ve got some great positions available now for qualified and interested parties. Open positions include an ESL and adult learning instructor, adoption case manager, development and fundraising campaigns officer, program manager, case managers for emergency services grant, senior activity coordinator / data manager, and lead facilities technician. A flyer lives on the parish resources webpage for you to promote these positions in your community to interested parties.
  • Finally, we are in the soft launch stage for our newest program, a mental health chat bot we are calling The Hope Project! This is an innovative way to engage with people across the diocese who may be struggling with mental health concerns. It’s not an ideal forever solution for addressing the pervasive mental health crisis, but it will give us the opportunity to help address core coping skills of individuals in both English and in Spanish. The bot focuses specifically on coping skills for both depression and anxiety, with an opportunity to escalate the conversation to a live person if there is expressed suicidal ideation, and referrals for actual counseling if that’s what the individual is seeking. We invite you to test the program and read more about it on our parish resources webpage. Please stay tuned for more ways to learn about the bot named “Hope” and how it can be of service to your parishioners along the way.

Program Highlight: Brady Senior Services

Serving an 8 mile radius around the Marillac Center on the campus at Our Lady of Lourdes, Brady adapted quickly to the pandemic in March of last year. It is now serving roughly 175 seniors a week through virtual and drive-through programming!

In the coming weeks, we are looking towards opening up safe, in-person opportunities for seniors to come together and see friends once more and return to building the community they love so much. We are honored to be a part of the journey walking alongside our senior friends in West Dallas.

Until next time!
